Harry J. Morse, CPCU formed Morse Underwriting Resources LLC in 2011 as an independent insurance/reinsurance consulting firm to address a growing insurance industry interest in utilizing specialized independent contractor advisory services.
Since that time, Morse Underwriting Resources LLC has proven to be uniquely prepared to meet this demand utilizing diverse commercial insurance/reinsurance underwriting and risk management related expertise, helping sharpen the focus and enhancing the market position for a broad spectrum of clients. Capabilities include a wide range of risk consulting and advisory resources tailored specifically to each client's unique needs.
Mr. Morse’s expertise spans over thirty-nine years while employed by several top tier insurance and reinsurance companies including Aetna Casualty & Surety, Orion Capital Companies, Reliance Reinsurance Corp. and Munich Re America. He has held a wide range of insurance and reinsurance underwriting, underwriting management, auditing and risk accumulation control positions. These roles involved Fortune 500 casualty insurance risks, international property and domestic casualty assumed treaty/facultative reinsurance business, domestic ceded casualty reinsurance responsibilities as well as extensive experience developing, managing and monitoring all lines MGA/Program Administrator Program Business.
During his eleven years at Munich Re America, in addition to underwriting treaty reinsurance for Program Business clients and developing and successfully implementing MGA/PA Program Business Best Practices and underwriting guidelines, he developed and successfully implemented various portfolio risk quantification and accumulation control measures in support of Munich Re's overall risk management strategy. Additionally, Mr. Morse facilitated the implementation of a wide range of knowledge management improvements streamlining underwriter’s access to key underwriting guidance and risk knowledge resources geared toward enhancing the quality and speed of underwriting decisions.
Mr. Morse holds a BS in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Oswego and the CPCU designation from the American Institute for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters.
